MATCH PREVIEW | West Park hosts Rhinos Women and Barrow this Sunday

Coming off the back of their first win of the season last time out, Leeds Rhinos Women continue their run of home fixtures as Lois Forsell's side hosts Barrow Raiders at West Park Leeds RUFC on Sunday afternoon, kick off 12pm.

The Rhinos moved up to sixth in the table by securing their first winning points of the campaign and look to move into the top four with a result against the Raiders, who also have one win this year.

Here's your match preview:

Opposition

Barrow Raiders enter their second season in the Betfred Women's Super League under Amanda Wilkinson, looking to build on their fifth-place finish last time out. The Raiders finished as the best of the rest outside of Leeds, York, Saints and Wigan as they beat Huddersfield twice, Warrington and Featherstone late on in the season to climb from seventh to fifth and secure their highest ever finish to a league campaign.

This season, the club welcomed back Beth Pattinson after she stepped away from the club following their promotion to the Super League competition in 2023. Lucy Dickinson and Becca Harley have stepped up from the club's youth ranks as well to earn squad numbers for the year, plus Emily Stirzaker captains the side in her fifth season in blue and white as she takes the reins from Jodie Litherland. Vanessa Temple, who scored 15 tries in a standout season, is one to watch as she's scored twice in five games so far this year, as well as Mia Dobson, who has four tries to her name.

With one win after four rounds, the Raiders have suffered a tough start against Leigh, Wigan and St Helens but managed to secure their sole win against Warrington thanks to tries from Kelly Friend, Jodie Morley and Temple. A win this weekend would see Barrow claim their maiden victory over the Rhinos, having lost both meetings against Leeds last year. They then host Warrington and Huddersfield in back-to-back home matches at the season's halfway point, before hosting Leeds again in round 10.
